Dialogue between a traveller and the Prophet (SAW)

A traveler once came to the mosque to see the prophet (SAW). After greeting the prophet (SAW) he was asked where he was from. The traveler replied that he came from very far just to get a few questions answered. Following is the dialogue between the traveler and the prophet (SAW).

1. Traveler: I do not want adhaab to be written in my account.
Prophet (SAW): behave well with your parents

2. Traveler: I want to be known amongst people as an intelligent person.
Prophet (SAW): fear Allah always.

3. Traveler: I want to be counted amongst Allah's favorites.
Prophet (SAW): recite Quran every morning and evening.

4. Traveler: I want my heart to always be enlightened. (munawer)
Prophet (SAW): never forget death

5. Traveler: I never want to be away from Allah's blessing.
Prophet (SAW): always treat fellow creatures well.

6. Traveler: I never want to be harmed by my enemies.
Prophet (SAW): always have faith in only Allah.

7. Traveler: I never want to be humiliated.
Prophet (SAW): be careful of your actions.

8. Traveler: I wish to live long.
Prophet (SAW): always do sile rahm. (goodness towards blood relations)

9. Traveler: I want my sustenance to increase.
Prophet (SAW): always be in wudhoo.

10. Traveler: I wish to stay free of adhaab in the grave.
Prophet (SAW): always wear pure (paak) clothes.

11.Traveler: I never want to burn in hell.
Prophet(SAW): control your eyes and tongue.

12.Traveler: how do I get my sins forgiven.
Prophet(SAW): always ask forgiveness from Allah with a lot of humility.

13.Traveler: I want people to respect me always.
Prophet(SAW): never extend your hands of need at people.

14.Traveler: I want to always be honored.
Prophet(SAW): never humiliate or put down anyone.

15.Traveler: I don't want to be squeezed by fishare qabr.
( squeezing in the grave)
Prophet(SAW): recite sura e mulk often.

16.Traveler: I want my wealth to increase.
Prophet(SAW): recite sura e waqia every night.

17.Traveler: I want to be safe and at peace on day of judgement.
Prophet(SAW): do zikr of Allah from dusk to night.

18.Traveler: I want to be in full attention and concentration during namaaz.
Prophet(SAW): always do wudhoo with concentration and attention.

Prayer for Repentance

Shaddad bin Aus (ra) narrated that the Prophet (saw) said,

“The most superior way of asking for forgiveness from Allah is:

`Allahumma Anta Rabbi, la ilaha illa Anta, khalaqtani wa ana `abduka, wa ana `ala `ahdika wa wa`dika mastata`tu, a`udhu bika min sharri ma sana`tu, abu’u laka bini`matika `alayya, wa abu’u bidhanbi faghfir li, fa innahu la yaghfirudh-dhunuba illa Anta.

‘O Allaah, You are my Lord, none has the right to be worshipped except You, You created me and I am You servant and I abide to Your covenant and promise as best I can, I take refuge in You from the evil of which I committed. I acknowledge Your favour upon me and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for verily none can forgive sin except You.’

The Prophet (saw) added. “If somebody recites it during the day with firm faith in it, and dies on the same day before the evening, he will be from the people of Paradise; and if somebody recites it at night with firm faith in it, and dies before the morning, he will be from the people of Paradise.” [Bukhari]

MORAL STORY

Once a rich trader by name of . Jamnadas suffered huge loss in his business. He used to manufacture agricultural equipments. He decided that whatever implements are not sold if I sell them in the town, I will reduce my losses. Thinking this he went to the town with the unsold goods. He tried to sell the equipments in the market there. However, all the equipments were not sold. Then he kept the remaining equipments in the godown of his friend. He told his friend that he will return after a few days and try to sell them again. Till that time let them remain here, After requesting his friend thus he returned home. After a few days he went back, and asked his friend for the equipments, His friend replied that your equipments are eaten by rats. Jamnadas did not say anything. He said to his friend that he wanted to both in the river. Therefore, send your son to show me the way. The friend sent his son with Jamnadas. When they reached the river Jamnadas took him to a cave and put him inside. He put a big boulder at the entrance of the cave. After returning home he told his friend ’Your son has been blown away by the wind’. The friend did not believe it. He went to the King and lodged a complaint. The king called Jamnadas and asked ‘How the boy can be blown by wind?, You are telling lies’. Jamnadas replied ‘If rats can eat my iron equipments then why a boy cannot be blown away by the wind?’. Then Jamnadas told the king the entire story. The king ordered his friend toe return all equipments to Jamnadas.

I want someone who would recite to me quran at random moments

Someone who would respect my maturity and love my innocence too.

Someone who will ensure that I fulfill my obligations to Allah and help me earn Jannatul Firdous.

Someone who would let me fulfill my responsibilitie s towards my mum&dad and would love my family like his own

I want a guy who will accept me with love and make me feel a part of his family.

Someone who I could share my fears, my laughs, my smile and my tears with .

Medicine of the Prophet

Muslims turn to the Quran and Sunnah for guidance in all areas of life, which may include health and medical matters. The Prophet Muhammad once said that "Allah did not create a disease for which He did not also create a cure." Muslims are therefore encouraged to explore and use traditional and modern forms of medicine, with faith that any cure is from Allah.

Traditional medicine in Islam is often referred to as Medicine of the Prophet (al-tibb an-Nabawi). Muslims often explore the Medicine of the Prophet as an alternative to modern therapies, or as a supplement to modern medical treatment.

Here are some traditional remedies that are a part of Islamic tradition. Note: One should always consult with a medical professional before attempting any treatment. Some herbs may be harmful in certain conditions and in certain amounts.

Black Seed
Black caraway or cumin seed (nigella sativa) is not related to the common kitchen spice. This seed originated in western Asia, and is part of the buttercup family. The Prophet Muhammad once advised his followers: "Use the black seed, because it contains a cure for every type of ailment except death."

Black seed is said to help with digestion, and also contains antihistamine, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, and analgesic properties. Muslims often consume black seed to help with respiratory ailments, digestive issues, and to boost the immune system.

Honey
Honey is described as a source of healing in the Quran: "There comes forth from their [bees’] bellies, a drink of varying colour wherein is healing for men. Verily, in this is indeed a sign for people who think" (Quran 16:69). It is also mentioned as one of the foods of Jannah: "The description of Paradise which the pious have been promised is that in it are rivers of water the taste and smell of which are not changed; rivers of milk of which the taste never changes; rivers of wine delicious to those who drink; and rivers of clarified honey, clear and pure..." (Quran 47:15). Honey was mentioned repeatedly by the Prophet as a "healing," a "blessing," and "the best medicine."

In modern times, it has been discovered that honey has antibacterial properties and has other health benefits. Honey is composed of water, simple and complex sugars, minerals, enzymes, amino acids, and several different vitamins.

Olive Oil
The Quran says: "And a tree (olive) that springs forth from Mount Sinai, that grows oil, and it is a relish for the eaters" (Quran 23:20). The Prophet Muhammad also once told his followers: "Eat the olive and anoint (yourselves) with it, for indeed it is from a blessed tree." Olive oil contains monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids, as well as Vitamin E. It is consumed to promote coronary health and is used on the skin to increase softness and elasticity.

Dates
Dates (temar) are a traditional and popular food for breaking the daily Ramadan fast. Eating dates after fasting helps to maintain blood sugar levels, and is an excellent source of dietary fiber, potassium, magnesium, and complex sugars.

Zamzam Water
Zamzam water comes from an underground spring in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. It is known to contain large amounts of calcium, fluoride, and magnesium.

Siwak
Twigs of the Arak tree are commonly known as siwak or miswak. It is used as a natural toothbrush, and its oils are often used in modern toothpastes. Its soft fibers are rubbed gently over the teeth and gums to promote oral hygiene and gum health.

Moderation in Diet
The Prophet Muhammad advised his followers to sustain themselves, but not overeat. He said, "The son of Adam [i.e. human beings] never fills a vessel worse than his stomach. The son of Adam only needs a few bites that would sustain him, but if he insists, one third should be reserved for his food, another third for his drink, and the last third for his breathing." This general advice is meant to prevent believers from over-stuffing themselves to the detriment of good health.

Adequate Sleep
The benefits of proper sleep cannot be overstated. The Quran describes: "It is He Who made the night a covering for you, and the sleep a rest, and He made the day to rise up again" (Quran 25:47, also see 30:23). It was the habit of the early Muslims to sleep directly after Isha prayer, wake up early with the dawn prayer, and take short naps during the midday heat. On several occasions, the Prophet Muhammad expressed disapproval of zealous worshippers who gave up on sleep in order to pray all night long. He told one, "Offer prayers and also sleep at night, as your body has a right on you" and told another, "You should pray as long as you feel active, and when you get tired, sleep."

Doors of Jannah

In addition to other descriptions of Jannah (heaven), Islamic tradition describes heaven as having eight "doors" or "gates." Some scholars interpret that these doors are found insideJannah, after one enters the main gate. The exact nature of these doors is unknown, but they were mentioned in the Quran and their names were given by the Prophet Muhammad.

To those who reject Our signs and treat them with arrogance, no opening will there be of the gates of heaven, nor will they enter the garden, until the camel can pass through the eye of the needle. Such is Our reward for those in sin. (Quran 7:40)

And those who feared their Lord will be led to the Garden in crowds, until behold, they arrive there. Its gates will be opened, and its keepers will say: 'Peace be upon you! You have done well! Enter here, to dwell therein.' (Quran 39:73)

Ubadah narrated that the Prophet Muhammad said: "If anyone testifies that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah Alone Who has no partners, and that Muhammad is his slave and His Apostle, and that Jesus is Allah's slave and His Apostle and His word which He bestowed on Mary and a spirit created by Him, and that Paradise is true, and Hell is true,Allah will admit him into Paradise through any of its eight gates he likes."

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet said: "Whoever spends two things in the way of Allah will be called from the gates of Paradise and will be addressed, 'O slave of Allah, here is prosperity!' So whoever was among the people who used to offer their prayers will be called from the gate of prayer; and whoever was among the people who used to participate in jihad will be called from the gate of jihad; and whoever was among those who used to observe fasts will be called from the gate of ar-Rayyaan; and whoever was among those who used to give in charity will be called from the gate of charity."

It is natural to wonder: What will happen to those people who have earned the privilege to enter Jannah through more than one gate? Abu Bakr had the same question, and he eagerly asked the Prophet Muhammad: "Will there be anyone who will be called from all these gates?" The Prophet answered him, "Yes. And I hope you will be one of them."

The most commonly-cited list of the eight doors of Jannah includes:

Baab As-Salaat
Those who were punctual and focused in their prayers (salaat) will be granted entry through this door.

Baab Al-Jihad
Those who have died in the defense of Islam (jihad) will be granted entry through this door.

Baab As-Sadaqah
Those who frequently give away in charity (sadaqah) will be admitted into Jannah through this door.

Baab Ar-Rayyaan
The people who constantly observed fasting (especially during Ramadan) will be granted entry through this door.

Baab Al-Hajj
Those who observe the Hajj pilgrimage will be admitted through this door.

Baab Al-Kaazimeen Al-Ghaiz Wal Aafina Anin Naas
This door is reserved for those who control their anger and forgive others.

Baab Al-Iman
This door is reserved for the entry of such people who have sincere faith and trust in Allah, and who strive to follow the commands of Allah.

Baab Al-Dhikr
Those who constantly remembered Allah (dhikr) will be admitted through this door.

Hadith of the Day

Reported by Wabisah bin Ma`bad (RA): I went to Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and he asked me, "Have you come to inquire about piety?'' I replied in the affirmative. Then he said, "Ask your heart regarding it. Piety is that which contents the soul and comforts the heart, and sin is that which causes doubts and perturbs the heart, even if people pronounce it lawful and give you verdicts on such matters again and again.''
[Ahmad and Ad-Darmi]
