Remission for Reading

Since 2012, Brazil has implemented a program known as "Remission for Reading," which allows prisoners to reduce their sentences by reading books and writing reports. For each approved book report, inmates can have four days deducted from their sentence, with a maximum of 12 books per year, totaling up to 48 days annually. The program aims to promote literacy, critical thinking, and personal development among inmates, facilitating their rehabilitation and reintegration into society. Participants select books from the prison library, which includes materials in Braille, audiobooks, and foreign languages to accommodate diverse needs. After reading, inmates have 10 days to write a review demonstrating their understanding of the text. These reviews are evaluated by a commission comprising educators, librarians, and civil society representatives. This initiative has been recognized for its positive impact on inmates' lives, offering them a constructive way to reduce their sentences while fostering personal growth and reducing recidivism.

1070 में जब बैतुल मुकद्दस को ईसाइयों ने मुसलमानों से जीता तो 70 हज़ार गैर फौजी मुस्लमानो को एक मुश्त कत्ल कर दिया गया था।

जिस मुस्लिम आवाम ने जंग नहीं करी उसका क्या कसूर था उन मुसलमानों आदमी औरत और बच्चों तक को नहीं बख्शा गया

जो मुसलमान ईसाई फौजों से बच गए थे, उन्हे पादरियों ने ज़िबह कर दिया था।

इतिहासकार जांसफन खुद ईसाई होकर लिखते हैं कि पूरा शहर औरतों बच्चों और मर्दों की चीखों से कराह रह था

जिससे योरूशल्म के दरों दीवार कांप उठे थे। इस घटना के 90 साल बाद जब फातेह सलाहुद्दीन अयूबी ने बैतूल मुकद्दस को फिर से फतह किया तो उसकी यादें ताज़ा हो गईं।

एक लाख ईसाई औरत, मर्द बच्चे उनकी जद में थे।

सभी रो रहे थे कि ईसाईयों ने सलाहुद्दीन अयूबी से कहा 90 साल पुराना बदल लेने के लिए उन्हें क़त्ल न किया जाए।

सलाहुद्दीन अयूबी ने कहा हम मुसलमान हैं। फौजी लड़ाई में मासूमो को नही मारते। आप आज़ाद हो, जहां चाहो जा सकते हो।

जितना रसद आप लेना चाहो ले जा सकते हो और आप जहां भी जाना चाहते हैं हमारी तलवारों के साए में हम आपको महफूज वहां तक छोड़कर आएंगे

ईसाइयों को सलाहुद्दीन अयूबी पर विश्वास नहीं हुआ

उन्होंने कहा यह जानते हुए भी हमने जब यरूशलम फतेह किया था हमने किसी मुसलमान की जान नहीं बख्शे थी और हमने किसी मुसलमान को जिंदा नहीं जाने दिया था

सलाहुद्दीन अयूबी ने कहा हमारे रसूल ने जंग के मैदान में इंसानियत के कुछ उसूल बताएं हैं

मैं तो क्या कोई भी मुसलमान रसूल के उसूलों के खिलाफ नहीं जा सकता

आपने अपने लोगों के जान की हिफाजत मांगी है और मैं आपके जान की हिफाजत की जिम्मेदारी लेता हूं

नतीजे में कुछ ईसाई योरूशल्म छोड़ गए, कुछ मुसलमान बन गए।
