After studying at Harrow and completing a degree in Natural Sciences at Trinity College, Cambridge, Nehru undertook his legal training in London, following the path of his father, Motilal Nehru, one of India’s leading lawyers. In 1912, he was formally called to the Bar, marking his official entry into the legal profession.
However, soon after returning to India, Nehru found little interest in practising law. Instead, from 1912 onward, he gradually immersed himself in the Indian national movement— a commitment that would shape his entire life and eventually lead him to become the first Prime Minister of independent India.
