AUTO SUGGESTION TECHNIQUES TO TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR LIFE

Whether you realize it or not, you have probably been using auto suggestion techniques your whole life.  If you have ever told yourself to wake up at a certain time, “relax,”  “sleep,”  “concentrate,” “smile,” “breathe,” or whatever -- you have used auto suggestion.

If you have told yourself to relax, focus, breathe, take it easy you are using auto-suggestion. Auto-suggestion is the easiest way to reprogramme our subconscious mind. In fact, each of us has used auto-suggestion at some point in our lives. The problem is most of us use auto-suggestion to focus on negative things rather than positive ones. For e.g. we say, “I am tired”, “I am useless”, and then wonder why we actually feel that way.

It has been said in ancient texts that, “The power of life and death lies in the tongue”. This means, words are so powerful that they can either build or destroy you. So, we’d rather use words to focus on positives instead of negatives. Energy flows where attention does. If you think you are ugly, that is how you will be and if you think you are smart and confident, that is how you will appear and your body language will show it.

The simplest way to harness the power of autosuggestion is positive affirmations. These are powerful and positive sentences that we constantly repeat in our mind and heart till they get embedded in our subconscious mind. The power of autosuggestion is enormous and it can be used in health, healing, prevention, relationships or career in a huge way.

AUTO-SUGGESTION TECHNIQUES
1. Delete negative thoughts:

Start paying attention to your self-talk. Whenever you catch yourself in negative self-talk, especially internal dialogue that expresses fear, doubt, or self-loathing, delete or erase it. Then replace it with more encouraging positive words.

2. Use affirmation:

Positive affirmations are so much more than just feel good quotes and positive statements.

3. Use repetition:
Use boring repetitive tasks as an opportunity for programming yourself with auto-suggestion. A lot of people like to use affirmations in the shower, while driving, at the bus stop, or on a bus, plane, or train.

4. Use emotions:
In order to make autosuggestion work, it must trigger feelings. The more meaningful auto-suggestion is to you, the more effective it is.

5. Step-by-step approach:
Sit comfortably in a quiet space – your office, home, or amid nature. Pick a goal or intention to focus on. Relax your entire body, and take several long deep breaths. Tune into your inner voice, and connect to the feeling that you truly believe this goal or intention. Begin to visualise the achievement of that goal, or realisation of your intention. Create a clear and detailed mental picture, using all five senses. Think about your goals. Finish with a positive affirmation about the outcome of your goal or intention. Repeat this process at least once a day, for about 10 minutes.

Mind to succeed.

To get profit without risk, experience without danger, and reward without work, is as impossible as it is to live without being born. - A.P. Gouthev

10 Ways to Promote Yourself to Entrepreneurial Success

Too many entrepreneurs I know still believe that their great idea will carry their startup. Yet most investors agree that the "idea" is worth nothing alone, and it's the entrepreneur's execution that counts. That means that selling yourself is more important than selling your idea.

In the corporate world, experts have recognized for a long time that the way people perceive you at work is vital to your career success. No matter how talented you are, it doesn't matter unless managers can see those talents and think of you as an invaluable employee, a game-changing manager or the person whose name is synonymous with success.

In the entrepreneur world, your perception is equally critical, except the "managers" in this world are your investors, customers, vendors, business partners and team members. I just finished a book by Dan Schawbel, Promote Yourself: The New Rules For Career Success, which will help you maximize these perceptions.

Here is a quick guide to some of the changes that Schawbel sees in the workplace that require self-promotion and some updates that I have added for entrepreneurs:

1. An "idea" is just the beginning. Use your business idea to kick start your relationships with co-founders, investors, customers and business partners. Your ability to promote yourself and learn from these will determine your ultimate success.

2. Pursue skills you don't have right now. A U.S. Department of Education study shows that soft, interpersonal skills have become more important for success than hard, or technical, skills. Entrepreneurs need to have leadership skills, as well as an ability to work in teams and listen. Coaching skills, which you can learn from advisors and networking with peers, are also a plus.

3. Polish your reputation, as it's your best asset. Your CEO title might be good for your ego, but in the grand scheme of things, what matters more is how much people trust you, whom you know, who knows about you, and the aura you give off around you. What other people think you can do is more important than what you have done.

4. Your personal life is now public. With the internet and social networks, things you do in your personal life can affect your success in a big way. Manage your whole image, rather than ignore it. Even the smallest things, like how you behave, your online presence -- or lack of it -- and whom you associate with can help build your brand or tear it down.

5. Build a positive presence in new media. There are plenty of benefits to new media, if you maintain a positive presence. Your online social networks enable you to build your reputation, connect with people who have interests similar to yours, find educational opportunities and put you in touch with people who can help your startup.

6. Play nice with people of all ages. The combination of economic need and increasing life spans is keeping everyone in the workplace longer. As a result, you'll need to work well with people of all ages. Each generation tends to communicate differently and offers a different view of the marketplace.

7. The one with the most connections wins. We have moved from an information economy to a social one. It's less about what you know (Google search will help you in seconds), and more about whether you can work with other people to solve problems. If you don't get and stay connected, you'll quickly become irrelevant.

8. Just one person can change your life. Remember the rule of one? All you need is that one investor, that one major customer or that one distributor to keep you ahead of competitors. It's up to you to get that key person on board to support your business. Self-promotion in the right way can make all the difference.

9. Hours are out, accomplishments are in. If you want to grow your business, stop thinking about how many hours you work, and aim for more milestones and traction. Success is more results, not more work. Measure your results and promote them. Help others realize your value.

10. Your startup is in your hands. Be accountable for your own business success, and take charge of your life. Look for win-win business relationships, since people won't help you if you are not helping them. If you aren't learning and growing, you have nothing to promote and aren't benefitting anyone.

Why You Should Ditch Your Billion-Dollar Business Ambitions

We all want to build the next Apple, Google or Facebook -- companies worth billions and billions of dollars. But you might want to think smaller, at least initially
.

Don't write up a business plan or create a pitch deck for an imaginary billion-dollar business. Instead, go out and create an actual, $1,000 dollar company
.

In the biggest twist of all, it turns out that one of the best ways to build something big is to build something small
.

The $1,000 startup is a powerful frame to put on your ideas, because it strips the distorting force of market opportunity out of the idea equation. Rather, it properly focuses you on the question of whether you're building something that other people want enough that they're willing to pay you for it. Meanwhile, if you do the work and grow from it, that seed of an idea can sprout into a thriving startup that brings in real money.

Entrepreneurs are a curious bunch.

They come in all shapes, sizes, genders and backgrounds. They get up at dawn. They're the first ones to the office and the last ones to leave. They use productivity apps, network their tooshes off and leave no stone unturned when it comes to pretty much everything.

At best, they make the rest of us humans

Entrepreneurs tend to act like kids in a candy store. Nothing is off limits, everything is for the taking,

"I keep my childlike wonderment alive. I approach the world with curiosity, passion, risk tolerance, and faith -- just like I did when I was growing up. The more traditional companies I worked for out of college not only didn't foster these traits, they flat out discouraged them."

"An entrepreneur's train of thought goes like this: ‘everything around me was invented by someone and that person probably isn't any smarter than I am.' We believe almost everything can be improved upon in some way. We start to imagine what could be instead of what is…the world is malleable and many of the rules that exist are more like guidelines.
"

being optimistic is just typically a better way to approach the world, so do it for your own sanity if nothing else
.

Entrepreneurs are by nature rule breakers and dissenters. This is an attitude as much as it is a mentality
.

"It's hard for me to relate when people can't wait for the week to be over or can't wait to rush out of the office for Happy Hour. My job is never done, nor do I want it to be. That's not to say that I never do things for pleasure, but I am constructing my own life and not constricting it based on someone else's ideas or standards.
"

This last point is a direct result of our modern-day reliance on technology as a vehicle for innovation. As Vanderveldt observes:

"Technology has been the common denominator for all the companies I have started -- from data mining to green energy. I believe it is the global equalizer and enabler. Young entrepreneurs and startups need to be focused on (and thinking about) enabling their organization to scale, delivering faster and more efficient results, and maximizing workforce productivity - all of which can be supported through technology."

So whether you're considering getting your feet wet as a first-time entrepreneur, or you are well on your way to entrepreneurial success, keep in mind that how you think is just as important as what you actually do. Thinking like an entrepreneur requires a unique approach to the world and a mindset to help view the world as limitless in its possibilities for improvement, change and, ultimately, innovation.

10 PRINCIPLES TO SUCCESS

10 money lessons from billionaires

"You become what you believe. You are where you are today in your life based on everything you have believed." --Oprah Winfrey, net worth of $2.7 billion First and foremost, you have to believe that greatness is possible. Many of the world's billionaires have shifted the way our world works, because they believed that they were capable of doing something that was previously impossible. Change is possible. Greatness is possible. But you can't do anything unless you first believe in yourself.
"What we say here every day is that our success is really based on our members' success, our community's success." --Pierre Omidyar, net worth of $6.7 billion Your success is directly tied to how much you do for others. It's not what you know. It's not who you know. It's what you do for who you know. Success follows generosity
"The typical human life seems to be quite unplanned, undirected, unlived, and unsavored. Only those who consciously think about the adventure of living as a matter of making choices among options, which they have found for themselves, ever establish real self-control and live their lives fully." --Karl Albrecht, net worth of $25.4 billion Everything you do (or choose not to do) is a choice. Most of us think that life happens to us, but in reality life is something that we choose either by actively pursuing options and creating our own circumstances, or by blocking opportunities and limiting our beliefs of what is possible. You can choose the type of life you want to live.
“I think that our fundamental belief is that for us growth is a way of life and we have to grow at all times.” —Mukesh Ambani, net worth of $22.3 billion Success is not an event—it’s a process. Billionaires embody that process better than most of us. They are on a constant quest to improve, enhance, and outperform themselves. It’s a constant, internal drive to become a better person.
"Getting the job done has been the basis for the success my company has achieved." --Michael Bloomberg, net worth of $22 billion Billionaires have grit and perseverance. Top performers work hard at hard things. And that means that successful people do the things that most people don't want to do, and that's why they get the job done.
"It's through curiosity and looking at opportunities in new ways that we've always mapped our path at Dell. There's always an opportunity to make a difference." --Michael Dell, net worth of $15.9 billion Take a look at any market-leading company. Are they compromising on their product in one way or another? That's an opportunity for disruption, growth, and change. Any unmet need, any annoying problem, any half-baked solution offers a chance to change things.
"If I'm going to do something, I do it spectacularly or I don't do it at all." --Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Alsaud, net worth of $18 billion Developing a world-class skill means that you have the capability to ignore everything else. You have to be able to focus on doing an incredible job or on ignoring it completely. Greatness doesn't come from simply "putting the time in" ... you have to put the time in with effort, energy, and resolve.
"The role of business is to produce goods and services that make people's lives better." --Charles Koch, net worth of $25 billion If your only goal is to become rich, then you're going to have trouble meeting your goal. However, if your focus is on making people's lives better, then you'll find that success comes much more quickly.5. Charles G. Koch, 76
Company: Koch Industries
Net worth: $24.7 billion
Compensation: N/A

Charles G. Koch has been the chairman and CEO of Koch Industries — one of the largest privately owned companies in the U.S. — since 1967. The group’s annual revenue is more than $100 billion, according to Forbes.
"No person will make a great business who wants to do it all himself or get all the credit." --Andrew Carnegie, net worth of $298.3 billion (in 2007 dollars) Success unshared is failure. Our connections with other people are what give our work meaning. The things we do will only matter if they are shared with others.
"The ultimate definition of success is: you could lose everything that you have and truly be okay with it. Your happiness isn't based on external factors." --Tony Hsieh, net worth of $840 million So often, we push happiness out on the horizon of life. "Once I get this job, I'll be happy." Or, "If only I landed that promotion, then everything would be good." Of course, life doesn't work that way, and there is always another goal once we reach our previous idea of happiness. Money is important, but your life should never be built around it. Happiness comes before success, not after it.
