Masjid-I-Ala, Srirangapatna—1922. Built in 1786–87 by Tipu Sultan, one of the most notable rulers and anti-colonial figures in Indian history. The mosque stands inside the Srirangapatna Fort, close to his palace, and is today recognised as a Monument of National Importance, maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India.
