11th February (1556), Prince Jalal Ud Din Muhammad, later known as Akbar ascended the throne as the 3rd Timurid/Mughal Emperor at the age of 14.
Akbar was tasked along with Bairam Khan to suppress the remnants of the Sur dynasty who were causing trouble within the Punjab region when Emperor Humayun unexpectedly died due to an accident.
