Mughal Dynasty Family Tree 1526-1857:

History, Rulers, and Legacy

The Mughal dynasty, founded by Babur in 1526, was a family descended from Timur (on his father’s side) and Genghis Khan (on his mother’s side). The dynasty included prominent rulers like Babur, his son Humayun, Akbar, Jahangir, Shah Jahan, and Aurangzeb, and ended with Bahadur Shah II in 1857. The family tree was shaped by both patrilineal descent from Timur and significant maternal ties through Persian princesses, which helped integrate Central Asian, Persian, and Indian influences into their rule.
